Clocks
Bill Ramsay was the hard-working and well respected doctor in the parish for many years. When he passed away in 1966, many of his patients donated to a fund to enable a memorial in his memory to be placed in Dunscore. The decision of a public meeting was that clocks should be placed in the church tower and permission for this was granted by the Church of Scotland. The clocks were duly installed and a plaque bearing the following inscription positioned adjacent to the church gate.

grateful patients and friends,
in memory of
W A Ramsay MA MB CH.B
Native of this district and doctor
1937-1966
These clocks have served the village well for 40 plus years but now need to be replaced. Various fund-raising events are taking place to raise the cost of new ones - approximately £5,000. Any donations, large or small, would be much appreciated.
